I’ve always been a Tech Evangelist. When I was a child, one of my favorite pastimes was disassembling things to see how they work. Curiosity and a strong drive to fix things that were broken drove me deeper into the fascinating world of technology.
One of my first childhood projects was disassembling and reassembling an old mantle clock that no longer worked. In the 1950s, non-working devices like this were considered to be junk. Today, it would be a valuable antique. Nonetheless, the old mantle clock got my curiosity going about technology and how things work.
My interest in computers and programs began way back in 1982 when I started writing my first computer programs using a language called BASIC in the early days of personal computers. I then advanced to writing programs for business systems and parlayed it into a career focused on "finding technical solutions for business problems." During the course of my career, I joined an International company and eventually became project leader for one of the very first multi-lingual, multi-currency e-commerce sites back in 1997. That web site is currently doing over $100 million per year in business and is used by customers in 160+ countries around the world.
Today, my focus is still on finding technical solutions for business problems. Contract programming and project management work tends to keep me off the streets, but is focused on what I love to do.
