Wao; quite revealing all this information. I think places like Theme Forest are a good option to get quality themes at affordable prices, to skip this kind of scam.

[...] But what about themes that do not have any visible problems, but have hidden codes that are encrypted and embedded in the theme files, quite often in such a fashion that you cannot detect them? Such codes can even steal your passwords and login details and all that can cause losses and security problems for your business and site. A detailed explanation with examples can be found at www.tech-evangelist.com. [...]

I encountered some problems like multiple links, pre-installed AdSense link units, Feedburner feeds, etc. that cannot be removed from any of the listed and visible PHP files. In one free theme, even after removing an ad link unit, it re-appeared. I tried three or four themes before the present one. The present theme so far did not show much problems, excepting that in the header RSS Feeder, I cannot put my Feedburner feed. However, instead of that my own WP feed comes up. I have not placed my AdSense ads in the present theme, as frequent impressions may affect my account. Can you look at my blog and suggest your opinion? Thanks.
