Either the signal is strong enough or it is not. A lot of people are finding that they have fewer channels to watch with digital when using an antenna. You probably didn't need to buy a digital antenna. Most digital stations can be received with the old antennas. However, it the signals are weak in your area, you may need a larger (stronger) antenna or you may need to orient the antenna to receive the strongest signal.
